This gem is nestled on the edge of the financial district and the St. Lawrence Market and serves up well crafted continental cuisine. Personally, I love dining in small restaurants, the feeling is much more homey and welcoming. The service here was also fantastic and something I had to take a note of. The server with us that day knew the menu very well and had very well-informed suggestions for the menu.
Albacore Tuna Crudo: Smooth and melts in your mouth. I’ve had my fair share of sushi and I have never had tuna quite like this before. The ponzu sauce with the orange chunks gave it a refreshing burst of flavour.
Pan Roasted Pork: Moist, tender and delicious all-around. The pork was roasted to perfection with the heirloom tomato confit perfectly complementing the flavour of the pork. A definite must-try.
Cherries Jubilee: Absolutely delightful. The cherry cake worked pleasantly with the vanilla ice cream and the cherry puree reduction on the side.
Almond Milk Tofu: So I stole a bite from a fellow diner to try his dessert and it was very light and delicate and went well with the pink lemon sorbet. Preference still goes towards the Cherries Jubilee however.
I would give this place a 10/10, excellent food, excellent service and unique enough for me to visit again outside of the Summerlicious season. Check out their website, one of the reason’s I decided to visit: http://lucienrestaurant.com/
Until we dine again,
